Basis Paper Weight
The basis weight of a paper is the weight of 500 sheets measured in pounds [lb], in that paper’s Basic Sheet Size, which is different for differenr paper’s grade category.

Bond (17”x22”)
Surface easily accepting pen and typewriter ink, commonly used for letterheads and business forms. Most used finish size 8.5”x11”.
Coated (25”x38”)
Greater surface smoothness and uniform ink reception, used when high printing quality is require. There are several kinds of coated paper:
- Coast coated
- Gloss coated
- Dull coated
- Machine coated
- Coated one side
- Coated two sides, etc.
Text (25x”38”)
Attractive texture and colours, frequently used to print brochures, announcements, booklets.
Book (25”x38”)
Less expensive than Text paper, made in antique or smooth finish and wider range of weight than Text paper. Mostly used for general printing, trade and textbooks.
